Maggie and Cathy gave my birthday party guests most informative and jolly tours around Madingley Hall. They are both full of knowledge and enthusiasm and make everything great fun. They kindly fitted their usual tour to the length of time available, and were altogether most friendly, obliging, reliable and a joy to spend time with. Can’t recommend them highly enough for a personal tour or for a special event

I booked a walking tour of Cambridge for my student group of 53 people. I contacted Maggie, who was very kind and suggested that we split our group into three smaller groups, each with a separate guide. It was an amazing experience from my students and teachers. Maggie and the other two tour guides, one male and one female, were exceptional and everyone was very impressed with the places they visited and the information they received.
Thank you Maggie, I will be using your company’s tour guide services again in the future”.

Our 90 plus minutes flew by with Steve as our guide. We learned the real stories of the famous and infamous who attended Cambridge. It was a great tour and a terrific history lesson about a wonderful town. Thanks and highly recommended.

Thanks Steve for a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours learning so much about a city we have lived in for years. Steve is well informed and delivered in a very amusing and entertaining way. We would definitely recommend this company to visitors or local in Cambridge.

5 of us, who have lived and worked in and around Cambridge for the last 35 years were given a hugely entertaining, personalised and informative guide around the city centre by Cathy. So many landmarks we have scurried past for years were brought to life in great detail through quirky and detailed stories and facts of interest. We all LOVED the 2 hour tour, which passed incredibly quickly. Absolutely brilliant and a huge recommendation for locals to learn about this amazing city and its illustrious and quirky history on the world’s stage in the past, present and future.

Booked a tour on as a team of 20 Physio’s to celebrate the NHS turning 70 years old, and can’t recommend highly enough. Offered a range of themes, and decided on a suitably morbid topic - Death and Disease!
Maggie came to meet us at the restaurant we stopped for lunch at, and quickly got into the swing with stories of the Plague and Oliver Cromwell’s head!! Meandered at a sociable pace though the colleges and heard about the man behind ‘bedside manner’ and early forays into dissection and anatomy.
Many of our party have lived in Cambridge for 20+years, and were suitably aghast at some of the gruesome tales from medicine of the past. Enormously entertaining and informative in equal measure...a must if visiting Cambridge.

This is our second tour with Steve to see Cambridge after 2 years and once again he exceeded all our expectations! After telling Steve our objectives of this tour, he made all the necessary arrangements and planned ahead of the tour. Thus we were able to see all that we had wanted and more. Steve has a high level of professionalism and his service is impeccable! I strongly recommend anyone who wants a customised tour of Cambridge to contact this company. Thank you very much again, Steve!!

Three fifty somethings, all very familiar with Cambridge (one of us teaches at the university) but never had a guided tour before. The delightful Maggie enlightened, entertained and amused us. The time flew by as we heard some of the history, the scandal and the achievements which have happened in this beautiful and magical city. Just right! could not have been better, thank you Maggie.

Steve seems to know Cambridge as well as his pocket (as we French people say), and his pocket is indeed full of detailed stories about every college or church or famous student or royalty of any kind in Cambridge. He’s also of great assistance when it comes to tell the ever-fascinating legend of how a tiny group of schoolmates from this glorious city went on to become one of the greatest pop bands of our time: Pink Floyd. So I’ll say thanks again, Steve!

We spent a lovely Saturday afternoon on a walking tour around Cambridge. Our tour guide Cath was entertaining, charming and full of interesting facts. Kings College was a beautiful building and an absolute must. The time flew by and I enjoyed every minute. We finished our tour in the Eagle with a well-earned drink! I would thoroughly recommend “See Cambridge Differently” - thank you.

We booked the tour for a group of A Level students who were enthralled not only by the knowledge of our guide Maggie, but also by her personable and funny delivery. Absolutely excellent and fully recommended.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our walk around central Cambridge, visiting the outside of several Colleges and the inside of Kings College Chapel. Steve was very knowledgeable and imparted his historical information in an entertaining manner. He is the best city guide we have experienced over many years.

I would highly recommend See Cambridge Differently: the three guides we had were intelligent, amusing and engaged with the group rather than just marching us around regaling us with facts. Cathy, with whom I worked to set up the visit, was swift to respond to questions and helpful throughout the process. I thought I knew Cambridge pretty well, as a former resident, but there was much in the tour that was new to me and I was impressed that they included many quirky and little known details. So, I think that is a 10 out of 10 for this well-named enterprise.

I spent a day with Maggie in this lovely University city. If she was concerned at my request to consider Cambridge in 1886 odd she showed no sign and relished the chance to deliver a non-standard tour. I think it fair to say that See Cambridge Differently stands heads and shoulders above other tours I had checked out before. I achieved what I wanted with enthusiasm from a specialist in her field. I would not hesitate in recommending Maggie Hartley and her organisation for a bespoke tour again. Big thanks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour of Madingley Hall with the delightful Maggie. She was an excellent guide, making us feel completely at ease and mixing historical fact with amusing tales in an interesting and engaging way. In the days before the tour, she sent a message asking about our knowledge of the area so she could tailor the tour accordingly. The rain didn’t spoil our walk in the lovely walled garden and Maggie answered all our questions in a way that gave us even more understanding of the development of the hall over the years. We will definitely be asking her to give us a quirky tour of Cambridge later in the year.
